Addicted to CAS Challenge #146

Hello there, CAS Addicts! It's time for a new challenge! Our Hostess is Ceal, and she has chosen 'Diamond' as our code word!
Before we begin, let's review the rules for the challenge:

Don't forget, as always, Happy Little Stampers (HLS) is our Sponsor, and Kylie is generously awarding the winner with a $20.00 GC to the store!

Happy Little Stampers was created in 2015 by Kylie (owner of ATSM and ATCAS). Kylie wanted to bring out a line of stamps that were useful for everyday crafters. From cute to whimsical images, from every day to funky sentiments there is something for everyone!

We have a super talented Guest Designer for this challenge...Carol Gunn

Hello to you all from Hamilton, New Zealand.  I am a life-long crafter and have tried most crafty things at least once, though I am addicted to cardmaking and quilting.  I don’t seem to have a particular style but tend towards the unfussy, although I have been known to go wild from time to time.  I love challenges and am glad to be guest for this challenge.  Cheers, Carol Gunn.

OK, now let's see what the DT has whipped up for this code word:

Congratulations, Carol! This is what Anja had to say about your card:
Carol's card caught my attention right away. I liked the way she made those apples stand out by only coloring them and inserting them into the tub. A very nice image and a great CAS design. Love the sentiment placed on the inside as well.

Addicted to CAS Challenge #145 - Tweet

Hello there, CAS Addicts! It's time for a new challenge! Our Hostess is Carolyn, and she has chosen 'Tweet' for our code word!

Kylie wanted to bring out a line of stamps that were useful for every day crafters. From cute to whimsical images, from everyday to funky sentiments there is something for everyone!

Once again, we have a super talented Guest Designer for this challenge...Susan Bridgman

Hello from Vancouver, Canada!  I grew up in a very crafty family where my Mum taught us to cook, sew, knit, and garden, and kept us well supplied with colouring books, coloured pencils, and paints – we were always working with our hands!   I still cook, sew, knit, and garden, and added crocheting along the way.  And then in 2007 I started making cards by cutting up and recycling the cards I received from people.  After seeing a stamp booth at a craft fair where they demonstrated heat embossing in 2009, I was instantly hooked and started stamping and heat embossing my cards.  It snowballed from there.  I joined Splitcoaststampers, posting my cards there until I started my blog (Cardmaker’s Garret) in 2015.  My style is basically CAS though I do like to experiment with a bit of mixed media.

I retired from a great career as a librarian at the public library in 2009.  You’d have thought I’d have enough hobbies to keep me busy but I needed more physical activity so I have since added teaching dog obedience classes (I have an adorable English Cocker Spaniel), taking riding lessons, and volunteering with therapeutic horse riding for kids with disabilities.  This last gives me great incentive to make large numbers of Christmas cards as I hold a sale every November of my cards (mostly Christmas ones) and my shortbread cookies as a way of raising some money for the therapeutic riding stable.

It’s an honour to be asked to be a Guest Designer at ATCAS!

The CAS Perfectionist and winner of a Gift Card from

#21- Susan

Congratulations, Susan! This is what Bobby had to say about your card:

Susan's card caught my attention right away and I kept going back to look at it.  The repeat stamping technique gives so much detail and dimension to the leaves and berries and the watercolored background and splatters finish the card off perfectly.

Addicted to CAS Challenge #144 - Apples

Hello there, CAS Addicts! It's time for a new challenge! Our Hostess is Anja, and she has chosen 'Apples' for our code word!
Before we begin, let's review the rules for the challenge:

Don't forget, as always, Happy Little Stampers (HLS) is our Sponsor, and Kylie is generously awarding the winner with a $20.00 GC to the store!

We have a super talented Guest Designer for this challenge! You may know her as Sweet Kobylkin or as the winner of our recent 'Masculine' Challenge...her name is Ksenija.

I started making cards in 2010. At the beginning, it was a hobby to channel my creativity, but today it means much more to me. I am active on Instagram and Facebook, where I am a.k.a. @sweetkobylkin, and have been designing for many international challenge blogs and brands. Over the years I have met so many talented designers from all over the world. I am happy that years ago I have discovered card making and found a passionate, sharing and supportive community of people.

Clean and Simple is my favourite style. My cards may seem very simple by design, but every card starts with a few sketches and careful positioning of all elements. I often use the Golden Section rule to make my cards. Although I enjoy Clean and Simple style cards, I do not like “empty” cards. On my blog, I give tips and hints on working with different layouts and techniques to avoid this emptiness impression and keep a card CAS.
